GUERNSEY had to do it the hard - and in one case painful - way to get their EH Trophy bid off to a winning start.

In the first round of the national knockout competition, last year's finalists twice fell behind against Tulse Hill and Dulwich before fighting back to win 5-2.

Two goals apiece for Adam Kitching and Rick Dijxhoorn were vital, as was a strike from captain Matt Watson, who injured himself in the process.

With his side trailing 2-1 shortly into the second-half, an attacking short corner was deflected onto Watson, pictured, and dislocated the skipper's shoulder, requiring a trip to A&E.

But he played through it for a few seconds to score the goal and level things up, before Dijxhoorn's brace and Kitching's second strike sent the Greens through.
