Undaunted by near miss Phil's men sail to title

NINE days earlier they had been pipped at the post despite amassing a monstrously high total.

But this time, at the rescheduled annual Credit Suisse Team Open at La Grande Mare, Phil Daunt's quartet had no ground staff team matching their every move and victory came relatively easy, by a cool seven points.

The same four scored exactly 100 the previous week to finish runners-up in the GGU Team event on the same course, only to find they still had not done enough to win.

So, naturally, Daunt was relieved to hit top spot this time.
