TOBYN HORTON believes he has 'taken a step in the right direction' after becoming a Team UK Youth rider for the 2013 season.
Having had various offers on the table in recent weeks, the 26-year-old Guernseyman opted to leave Team Raleigh in favour of the squad making quick progress up the echelons of British cycling.
He joins a 12-man team that is run by former motor racing star Nigel Mansell, who is now a Jersey resident and whose son, Greg, is also in the team.
'In terms of the level of the team, this is probably a sideways step but I see it as moving forwards in my career,' said Horton, pictured.
