STEVE SHARMAN will be the spearhead of a new-look youth football development programme.

Sharman, pictured, who is a Guernsey FC coach on top of his full-time commitments as an FA regional manager, will become the new high performance youth development director for the GFA.

He will sit on the GFA board in that new position, joined by GFA football development officer and GFC player Angus Mackay, who becomes the high performance youth development technical director.

'I am really looking forward to this work, finally being able to offer something back to youth football in Guernsey after being given so much when I was growing up here,' explained Sharman.
