THE Guernsey Cricket Board will have a new chairman for 2013, in addition to a first director of cricket.

Dave Nussbaumer, pictured, has been inked in to take over the GCB hot seat at next month's annual meeting following the decision by the incumbent, Dave Piesing, to step down due to pressure of work.

'The sole reason for doing so is because my already extensive overseas work travel commitments are now increasing even further and I didn't feel that it was either appropriate or feasible to try to continue leading the GCB as chairman when I will be absent so often from the island,' said the outgoing man.

'Such regular absences would only enable me to be a reactive rather than a proactive chairman, which is not what the organisation needs going forward in terms of leadership style,' he added.

Nussbaumer takes over with Piesing's full blessing.
