JORDAN REYNOLDS had a face like thunder and could scarcely hide his contempt for visiting referee David Stephens after his gallant Guernsey side had gone down to three unanswered tries and the boot of Luke Giles at Footes Lane.
The yellow carding of scrum half Malcolm Barnes had particularly angered the Guernsey coach and Reynolds, largely biting his tongue, groaned: 'We just couldn't get a decision. The ball didn't fall our way all afternoon.
'We were good across the park, but the biggest issue was that we had Malcolm off,' added Reynolds, who saw Westcombe draw decisively clear when Guernsey were harshly taken down to 14 men at a key period in the second half just when the match could have gone either way.
So much of Guernsey's play was good and, to their credit, they matched the in-form visitors in most areas.
