GUERNSEY cricket has pulled off another major coup with the news that departing Sussex chief executive officer Dave Brooks has joined the GCB board.

Brooks will be a non-voting ex-officio officer, after he announced back in October that he would be standing down from his role at Sussex at the end of this year.

The 45-year-old earned great praise for his leadership of the south coast county after taking charge in 2009, including overseeing the re-development of Hove into one of the country's premier grounds.

With that experience in mind, GCB CEO Mark Latter is delighted to welcome Brooks (pictured) to the island game at the same time that the GCB's first director of cricket, Nic Pothas, has been appointed.

'I think this is another big pat on the back for the local game and where we are heading,' said Latter.
