TOBYN HORTON will be aiming to emulate his Island Games criterium successes at the inaugural IAG Guernsey Grand Prix on the town front late next summer.
The professional cyclist, who has won the past two Island Games 'crit' titles and goes for a third in Bermuda next July, will be one of the star attractions of the new event which will be run in conjunction with the Guernsey Waterfront Marathon on 22 September.
The British Cycling Federation-sanctioned event will have a first prize of £1,000 and feature three elite races, on top of supporting junior races.
Horton, pictured, is currently training in Lanzarote and unavailable for comment yesterday, but race organiser Paul Brehaut could not hide his excitement.
