GUERNSEY HOCKEY hope to have pulled off an impressive coup and lined up a mouthwatering double-header EH knockout weekend at Footes Lane.
If all goes to plan, the men's and women's island sides will play their third-round matches in their Trophy and Vase campaigns on Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 February respectively in front of what are expected to be large and vocal home crowds.
Both teams enter the national competitions under the proviso that if they are drawn at home and their opponents do not wish to travel to the island, they have to play at a neutral ground in the UK. That has often proved to be the case in the past.
Also, the dates set aside in the EH calendar for the two competitions are a week part, but the visiting clubs have agreed to Guernsey's preferred dates.
