HENRIK ASPLUND took the honours in race two of the Mercator Frostbite Series.
On a day that lived up to the series' name, 12 boats took to the water and there was some close racing.
As sailors made their way to the course area set within Belle Greve Bay, they were greeted by gentle sleet in the chilly light force two to three breeze.
At the start, on a tightly laid line, the bulk of the competing boats jockeyed for position at the committee boat end, while Henrik Asplund and Steve Rickards got away well into clear airs at the pin end.
These positions were held until the windward mark rounding, after which the faster asymmetric boats started to pull away.
