HEATHER WATSON claimed the decisive rubber yesterday as Team GB got their 2013 Fed Cup campaign under way with a victory.
Watson beat Anita Husaric 6-3, 6-4 on centre court in Eilat, Israel, after her teammate Anne Keothavong had put GB's first point on the board with a straight sets victory over Dea Herdzelas.
'Glad to get through that one,' said Watson of her rubber. 'First matches are never easy, perhaps a bit of nerves. Hopefully better tomorrow.'
Laura Robson and Johanna Konta completed a whitewash with victory in the doubles.
Team GB face Portugal today with their final pool match tomorrow against Hungary.
