A BIT of history was made at the Pleinmont track for the opening event of the 2013 motocross season.

Computer lap-scoring was utilised for the first time courtesy of transponders and the new computer system showed a fastest lap time of 1min. 17 sec., and as little as 0.03sec. between rival riders as they crossed the line in one particularly tight race.

Disappointingly, the fewest number of riders for some years showed up for another slog in the mud, but there was still some good

Brett Pearce took a succession of firsts in the MX2 class, while Lloyd Wallbridge on his new Kawasaki came second overall.

Aaron Lesbirel and Joe Holden, both newcomers for 2013, each gained a third place.
