GUERNSEY'S men's hockey team exacted their revenge yesterday to knock the holders out of the EH Trophy.
The last time the Sarnians had met Gateshead was in the final of the competition last year, which the north-east club won 2-1, but on this occasion the Greens made the most of their opportunities and with it booked a semi-final spot.
'We took our chances really well, which is the only real difference to when we played them in the final,' said Guernsey captain Matt Watson.
'We're now in the last four, which is where we want to be.
'We felt we let ourselves down a bit in the final last year. We have put that right now, we are in the semi-finals and we feel we are as good as any side in this competition.'
