NEW Guernsey cricket captain Jamie Nussbaumer, pictured, has a warning for his players. He will be a demanding leader and had no second thoughts about taking the job.

'I am obviously delighted to be given this huge honour,' he said.

'I am a proud Guernseyman and I take great pride whenever I represent the island. Being the leader of a talented group like ours is a big job and one that I do not take lightly, but I never had a second thought when accepting the job.'

At the same time he said part of him wished he was still serving under Stuart Le Prevost, who stood down at the start of the year.

'I think I speak for the whole group when I say that we would have loved Stu to have stayed on for a couple more years, maybe not even as captain, if he didn't want to, but as a senior guy within the dressing room who could have just gone out and enjoyed his batting without the burden of captaincy.

'Having said that, all good things have to come to an end unfortunately.'
