THE contrasting personalities of Guernsey's new cricket captain and vice-captain will make for the ideal balance, according to the island's director of cricket.

Nic Pothas, pictured, described it as a 'watershed moment within Guernsey cricket' this week when he announced the appointments of Jamie Nussbaumer and Tim Ravenscroft as the new leadership duo of the national side following Stuart Le Prevost's retirement.

But while the pair are good friends and both knowledgeable in the game, they are close to polar opposites on the field.

Nussbaumer is a passionate and demonstrative cricketer, who by his own admission can be viewed as 'intense'.

On the other hand, Ravenscroft is laidback and reserved, more likely to respond with a grin than words.
