TONY VANCE urged his Guernsey FC players to 'savour the moment', after a fantastic display saw them reach the semi-finals of the FA Vase in front of a bumper crowd at Footes Lane on Saturday night.

A club record attendance of 2,597 saw the Green Lions come from behind in style to defeat Walsall Wood 3-1, goals from Ross Allen, Glyn Dyer and Dave Rihoy clinching a famous quarter-final replay win.

It sets up a two-legged encounter with competition favourites Spennymoor Town, with Vance knowing the size of his side's task has just become even harder again.

'This is a fantastic achievement for a club like ours that has only been going for little more than 18 months,' he said.
