'B' and Vets raise the roof

AFTER the thrashing of 2012, Guernsey netball restored some pride in front of noisy and enthusiastic crowds at Beau Sejour.

The roof almost came down as on Saturday they roared the Open B side to a thrilling 36-33 victory.

Guernsey had been six down at one stage but after a few tactical tweaks from the coaching team, they hit back brilliantly to steal victory from a shocked Caesarean camp who pride themselves on almost total dominance over the old enemy.

Roxanne Wylie picked up the player-of-the-match award for the triumphant Greens, but she was pushed close by tigerish mid-court player Kim Le Lacheur, whose long wait for an island appearance she took with gusto.
