MIKE BEAUSIRE admits he had a 'lucky escape' after walking away from a spectacular crash at the opening hill climb of the year on Easter Monday.
Going into the final corner on Le Val des Terres in his Abarth 500, the 28-year-old flipped and rolled twice after hitting the bank, causing significant damage to the car.
But after only suffering 'whiplash as well as a few bumps and bruises', Beausire recalls exactly what happened after ironically still crossing the line in his fastest time yet of 37.64sec.
'I had a brand new set of slick tyres on the car and, to be fair, they probably did their job a bit too well,' he said.
