JON GREENFIELD made a winning return to action in the final race of the Ana Leaf Winter Duathlon Series.

Due to the absence of Dave Crosland, it was left to Nathan Gosling and Alan Rowe to battle it out for the overall series honours although it was Greenfield, in his first race of 2013, who led home a decent turnout of 35 in cold and windy conditions.

The three-mile run, 20-mile bike, three-mile run format is the longest in the Guernsey Triathlon Club's series and took in a two-lap run followed by a short ride to the bridge, making a dead turn and then heading out on a long coastal drag to Perelle and back, with the run repeated to finish.

The opening run started tactically slow, with those at the front looking for shelter into the headwind.
