THE long reign of Nerine at the top of Guernsey netball is over.

While they remain the powerhouse club with far more sides than any other, for the first time in more than a decade they are not First Division champions. That honour now sits with relatively new side Resolution IT who wrapped up the title in convincing fashion indoors at the Grammar School last night, defeating Nerine B 59-34.

It was the Nerine second string who inflicted one of 'Rezzers' only two defeats all winter, but any lingering thoughts within the Nerine camp that lightning might strike twice, were quickly dispelled as the league leaders raced into a 4-0 lead inside a couple of minutes.

By the end of the first quarter they were 15-6 ahead and at the interval the margin was up to 12 at 29-17.
