Modern greats head to Jersey as big favourites
YOU should never take such things as CI Championship finals for granted, but if Jersey can produce anyone to get the better of Garry Dodd and Alice Loveridge at Friday's CI Table Tennis Championships in the sister isle, it will be as big a shock as Foinavon winning a Grand National.

Domestically, Dodd and Loveridge were the winners of the showpiece men's and women's singles events at the climax of the annual island championships when 19 island championship finals were contested.
For both players, this was their sixth title, with Dodd's being his sixth consecutive one.
Dodd's final against Phil Ogier saw a display of unrelenting dominance from the CI number one.
He was on top throughout the encounter and never looked like losing during either of the four legs played.
