One final step for Greens

GUERNSEY have the Investec Women's Vase final they wanted and they are out to put the record straight.

The Sarnians travel to Beeston Hockey Club in Nottingham on Saturday to face holders Oxted, who knocked them out of the same competition at the semi-final stage last year by a narrow 2-1 deficit.

The feeling in the camp is that they have some unfinished business.

'I think everyone is looking for a bit of revenge. We felt we were the better team on the day, but the result did not go our way,' said Emma Atkinson, who added that prior knowledge of the opposition could also be an advantage for her side.

'We are not going into this totally blind as we do with a lot of our Vase games. We have got a bit of background on them from playing them last season so we know roughly that they are the same standard as us.'
