Jumping for joy

IT WAS third time lucky for Guernsey on Saturday as they joyously lifted the Investec EH Women's Vase.

Having been runners-up in their inaugural campaign and then suffered the agony of conceding a golden goal in last year's semi-final, captain Emma Atkinson

finally got her hands on a piece of national silverware in Nottingham after a dramatic penalty shootout win over Oxted.

The two sides had been locked at 1-1 after 70min., with Mix de Vial equalising Amelia Lewis' opener, and then through extra time but Guernsey deservedly came out on top with a nigh-on perfect display in the shootout, winning it 3-0.
