Le Poullain into national semis

BILLY LE POULLAIN delayed his 18th birthday celebrations by a day to box in the pre quarter-finals of the Junior ABAs in Basildon.

But it proved worth it.

The hard-punching and skilful Alderney born and raised boxer, pictured, won all four two-minute rounds to win unanimously against Josh Fox.

'He boxed really well,' said Le Poullain's coach, Graham Guilbert.

'We had a game plan to come forward and I told him to push him onto the ropes.'
