THE Guernsey Ladies Rugby team of 2012-13 can justifiably call themselves The Invincibles.

Another victory against league opposition saw them end their season with a 100% winning record, but this time there was also the important matter of inter-island pride and a trophy to play for at St Peter on Saturday.

Despite missing a couple of influential players, Guernsey were determined to keep their grip on the Siam Cup and from the moment that fly half and captain Jemma Crouse kicked off against the wind, the Sarnians were in total control and spent the majority of the game camped in the Jersey half.

The first half an hour or so was like a chess match, with both sides cancelling out each other's attacking options, but for all Guernsey's territorial advantage, they were unable to break through the strong Jersey defence.
