NIC POTHAS has called for an improvement in local players' match awareness ahead of the national team's testing double header against a strong Sussex Academy next week.

Guernsey play the Academy side twice in 24 hours, once in T20 format and then over the 40-over format.

Pothas, pictured, the director of cricket, has again given several emerging players a chance and they include young Lucas Barker, who has started the season in fine form with the bat.

The exciting young wicket-keeper Jason Martin also gets another chance to impress, being chosen for the longer game.
