A NEW name, same business of winning.

A NEW name, same business of winning.

Skipper Tom Kimber ensured the Guernsey and CI champions Miton Optimal got their championship season off to a positive start with an ultimately comfortable five-wicket victory over Odey ORs at Port Soif with more than 11 overs to spare.

With one eye on the darkening skies and thickening drizzle, Kimber went up a gear to take his side home when the loss of GH Smit and Lucas Barker in quick succession had given the home side brief hope of defending their below average target of 198.

Kimber's undefeated 51 came off 41 deliveries and included six fours and a six, the only bowler giving him any problems being the highly-promising 16-year-old left-armer Jordon Martel when he came back for a second spell downwind and got the ball to cut off the pitch alarmingly at times.
