Hunter hails the Indies' 'pretty amazing season'

AN unprecedented season of success has been capped with ABN Amro Indies Ladies crowned as Channel Islands hockey club champions.

After completing the domestic league-and-cup double, Guernsey's best took on Jersey champions Nomads in the Upton at Les Quennevais and showed the importance of taking chances in a big game.

After an early period of pressure, Liz Dudin put Indies ahead as she tucked the ball into the bottom corner following a rebounded short corner.

The home side slowly gathered some momentum and created chances, but Catherine Francescon and Julie Harding were unable to convert them.
