TOM KIRK showed his destructive batting capabilities as he smashed Rovers to a brilliant 10-wicket win over Griffins, to reignite their Evening League Division One title challenge.

Chasing a competitive 126 from 16 overs, Kirk hit 80 not out from just 51 balls that included a 26-ball half-century.

Opening partner Adam Martel was no slouch either at the other end, notching an unbeaten 41 from 35 deliveries.

It meant that a Griffins total which looked decent at the halfway stage ended some 30 runs short of being a winning one, as Rovers crossed the line with 10 balls to spare and having slowed up in comparative terms in the later stages.
