BOBBY EGGO began his quest for an 11th island crown in imperious form last night at L'Ancresse.

The 10-time winner quickly warmed to the chilly and dull conditions to see off the challenge of Andy Harte in a little over two hours on the opening night of the Intertrust Island Men's Championship.

Harte, who was part of the successful 2012 La Grande Mare Hampshire Sevens team but is now a L'Ancresse member, had no answer to the top seed who was three under par for the 13 holes played in his 6 and 5 victory.

Eggo will now play youngster Tom Pattimore, who beat Peter Crosland in one of the three matches to go the distance yesterday.
