50 days to go

GUERNSEY are ready for the summer's NatWest Island Games, as the countdown to Bermuda 2013 reaches 50 days.

On Saturday 13 July, the opening ceremony will precede six days of competition, with the Sarnians defending their honour after topping the 2011 medal table.

After having various challenges to overcome in the build-up, Guernsey Island Games Association games director Jon Marley, pictured, is confident of another memorable Games.

'The total number of competitors being lower than normal is the only problem, but it is still on course to be one of the best Games,' he said.
