COBO TIGERS got off the Swoffers Weekend cricket Championship winning mark in ultimately comfortable fashion in glorious conditions at Port Soif, by easing past reigning champions and recent nemesis Miton Optimal by 58 runs.

It means that after two matchdays of this new-look tournament, all four sides have one win to their name and Cobo captain Jamie Nussbaumer was pleased belatedly to get his side's season off-and-running.

'It was nice to get a win over Miton Optimal because they have been a bit of a bogey team for us, so we were overdue a win against them, I would say.

'With all four teams on two points, we go into the GPL break and then come back next month with everything nicely set.'
