MIKE WILESMITH is running up hills in Kenya in a bid to get himself into the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow next year.

At the same time he is aiming to get one of Kenya's many hundred of world-class runners to Guernsey to run this year's Guernsey Sportingbet Marathon in September.

Wilesmith, 27, is currently at a High Altitude Training Centre in Iten, Kenya, a place his coach, Lee Merrien, knows all too well from his many trips there to train.

'This trip is part of my very early build-up to the Frankfurt Marathon on 27 October,' he says.
