WILL BEER is swapping Port Soif for Lord's this weekend, but BDO will still have a high-class Sussex professional to call upon in the GPL final.

All-rounder Beer starred for his franchise on the opening weekend of GPL III last week before getting a surprise call up to the Sussex first team for the four-day County Championship match against

Middlesex at the 'Home of Cricket', which started on Wednesday, where he has claimed three wickets with his leg-spin.

His involvement in that game, however, prevents his return for BDO this weekend. But a replacement has been found in the shape of Beer's county team-mate, Joe Gatting, the 25-year-old batsman and nephew of former England captain Mike.

Gatting followed in the footsteps of his father, Steve, as a professional footballer with Brighton before switching his focus to cricket in 2009.
