Quality field taking shape

MORE than half the field for the richest competition in Guernsey golf – the Ravenscroft Guernsey Open Matchplay – are now confirmed.

With the completion of the three official island championships, 10 of the 16 invites will be sent for the £3,500 inaugural event at La Grande Mare at the beginning of next month.

Eight have guaranteed themselves a minimum reward of £150 by coming through the Guernsey Golf Union run championships.

They include 2013 island champions James Hamon, Jeremy Nicolle and Aimee Ponte.
