Ravenscroft out

ONE minute Jersey were rueing the loss of their top player ahead of the ICC European T20 Championships, and now Guernsey are in the same boat.

Having been named in Nic Pothas' 14-man squad only last Friday, vice-captain Tim Ravenscroft has withdrawn from next month's tournament due to personal reasons, while Jersey have lost top batsman, Australian Dean Morrison, who has been ruled ineligible by the ICC.

GCB chief executive Mark Latter confirmed weekend rumours of Ravenscroft's decision to take a break from competitive cricket, with a short statement yesterday afternoon.

'It was with regret that we have to advise the withdrawal of Tim Ravenscroft, pictured, due to personal reasons.

'The squad management focus will continue to be on the team whilst acknowledging that Tim will be missed from this unit. '
