BOBBY EGGO is already in good shape to win yet another Credit Suisse Trophy within the prestigious annual 72-hole strokeplay competition, the only one in domestic golf.

The former Walker Cup star shot a superb four-under gross 66 on day one at L'Ancresse yesterday and that was with three bogey fives on the card, including one at the very opening hole.

He also dropped shots at the 11th and 15th, but there were seven birdies in his round, including five on the inward nine which he covered in just 32 shots.

Although the 66 gives him a two-shot lead over his brother Andy in the scratch competition, he finds himself headed by Jacques Ogier in the UV Trophy stakes off handicap.
