Loveridge leads Trent to Euro semi-finals

ALICE LOVERIDGE won through to the semi-finals of the European Universities women's team championships in Turkey.

Yesterday, the Guernsey star and her Nottingham Trent University team-mates representing England in the four-day event in Zonguidak, defeated the University of Poitiers representing France 3-0 before taking on the top-seeded Russians in the semi-finals and going down 3-0. Previously, the Nottingham Trent trio had edged past Germany 3-2 to reach the last eight, this after they had gone down 3-1 to Poland.

The team event is followed by singles competitions which conclude on Sunday.
