Ponte wins twice again for unbeaten Hampshire

HAMPSHIRE are in pole position to qualify for the national finals with two wins from two so far in the England Golf South Region County Match Week.

Once again, Aimee Ponte played a major role yesterday in the 5.5-3.5 win over Sussex as she maintained her unbeaten record this week at Blackmoor Golf Club.

In the morning foursomes, the Sarnian joined forces with Kerry Smith to good effect as they secured a 2 and 1 win against Chelsea Masters and Katherine Russell to help Hampshire to a 2-1 lunchtime lead.

Ponte, pictured, then defeated Aileen Greenfield 2 and 1 in the afternoon singles.
