CALF injury? What calf injury?

GH Smit showed that he is fully recovered from his recent lower leg tear with a match-winning all-round effort at Port Soif on Saturday.

The island star smashed a superb 144 from just 125 balls to dominate the Miton Optimal innings of 262 and then sent down 10 highly tidy overs and captured one wicket for just 25 runs as Odey ORs were dismissed for 222, despite some late order resilience from all-rounder Stuart Bisson, who struck a belligerent undefeated 74 from 52 balls at number nine.

It was a vital win for the Guernsey and CI champions who are right back in the title race after the win which, combined with a seven-wicket defeat for leaders Cobo Tigers at the hands of 2mi Wanderers at the KGV, means all four sides are still in the championship hunt edging into the second half of the season.
