CONCENTRATION could be the buzzword for Guernsey's golfers as they prepare for a tough examination on the Port Royal course in Bermuda.

As in 2011, the Sarnians are sending eight competitors to the Island Games and, bar the late withdrawal of island champion James Hamon due to football commitments, it is a strong-looking octet.

Guernsey's best ever Bobby Eggo, pictured, heads up the men's quartet, who won a team bronze medal two years ago helped by Eggo's individual fourth place, where he came just one shot off bronze.

His brother Andy is also in the team, as well as the experienced Nigel Vaudin and debutant Geoff Orme, while the women will also be looking to at least repeat their bronze efforts from 2011.

Aimee Ponte is again the headline act as her improvement since her sixth-placed finish has continued to be dramatic and this tournament comes just weeks before she prepares to jet off to America.

TEAM

Men: Andy Eggo, Bobby Eggo,

Geoff Orme, Nigel Vaudin.

Women: Jan Chamberlain, Abigail Howard, Aimee Ponte, Mandy Webber.

Debutant: Orme.
