THE Eggo name is synonymous with the Royal Guernsey Club Championship, but yesterday it was Andy rather than defending champion Bobby who claimed this year's title.

A level-par afternoon round of 70 saw the younger brother win by a single shot from island champion James Hamon.

The teenager had led at lunch after a morning best of 68, which saw him cover the back nine in just 31 strokes thanks to four successive birdies from the 14th.

However, Hamon was 10 shots worse off in his afternoon round, leaving the door open for Andy Eggo, pictured.
