Huxtable claims first win at LGM

SIMON HUXTABLE, pictured, took the honours in the Marlborough Trust Men's 18-hole Medal at La Grande Mare.

Playing off 14, he carded a net 60 to claim his first win and also a two-shot handicap reduction.

'The key was having the same golf ball for the entire round,' he said with a laugh.

'Not going into any douits or going out of bounds kept the score much lower than normal and saved money on golf balls as well.'
