REIGNING champions Guernsey showed their strength to book a place in this afternoon's team semi-finals at the Bermuda High School.
With only two groups in the event, the Sarnians had a harder draw than would usually be the case as they came up against fellow seeds Greenland on the opening day, but they came through that challenge to cement a spot in the last four.
In a twist to the story, though, hosts Bermuda pulled of something of a shock to go through with Guernsey at the expense of Greenland.
'It's been a good day at the office,' said Guernsey team manager Kathy Stuart.
'I think the truth of the matter is that Greenland made an error in their selection against Bermuda and they are regretting it now.
'They probably underestimated them, having seen our result against Bermuda in the first match. It was a tough match and although our score was 5-0, that did not tell the whole truth of the match as there were some close games.'
