THE effervescent Premier of Bermuda, the Hon. Craig Cannonier, stole the show at the opening ceremony of the XVth NatWest Island Games.
Taking the podium after a typically rousing speech from Jorgen Petterssen, the chairman of the International Island Games Association, The Hon. Mr Cannonier had a tough act to follow – but his vibrancy and humour gave the Games the ideal start.
Team Guernsey were led in by proud flag bearer Sarah Garbutt, who had water carrier Annalise Munro alongside her.
Keeping with tradition, the host island brought up the rear and also brought with them the biggest cheer.
