GUERNSEY enjoyed a glut of gold medals on the second day of the XVth NatWest Island Games in Bermuda.
The usual suspects were at it again with rackets in hand as the badminton team concluded the day by retaining their title while Patrick Ogier and Dom McLuskey maintained their perfect record together as a team at the Games with a third success following on from Rhodes 2007 and Aland 2009.
'I feel like the Island Games is our domain,' said a grinning Ogier after their success over Jersey in a final played in scorching heat.
'Dom and I have never been beaten as a team and it's great to have the Bailiff and other support from Guernsey here, although I think my brother makes more noise than any of them,' added the man who beat Scott Clayton in an epic rubber, cheered on by brother Thom and mother Claire.
Meanwhile, badminton team manager Kathy Stuart quipped: 'my work here is done' after the 3-1 success against the Isle of Man in a final that ended at 10.20pm.
Guernsey officially sit third in the medal table with six golds, two silvers and 10 bronzes. But that tally does not include the gold won by Sam Wallbridge in the 400m hurdles, an event which had only two finishers.
