Le Page helps MVP push in losing cause

ANDY LE PAGE continued his push for the overall Division One 'MVP' honours, but his Clubhouse Optimists side were comfortably second best to champions Cobo Tigers at Port Soif last evening.
Le Page, who before last night stood fifth in the divisional individual stats and behind leader GH Smit, Tom Kirk and the Cobo duo of Jamie Nussbaumer and Tim Ravenscroft, scored an undefeated 39 as Optimists struggled to muster a testing target on a rare perfect evening by the beach.
A target of 113 in 20 overs was never likely to test the defending champion's long batting line-up, even one minus Stuart Le Prevost.
Optimists' batsmen struggled to make much inroads against the new-ball attack of Ollie Newey and young Will Fazakerley, and when they tried to push the score along Ravenscroft pinned them down with four tight overs of spin.
