Cobo cruise to easy win

IN THE soft evening sun of a perfect Port Soif evening, Jamie Nussbaumer could be spared a deep and serious thought.

'How on earth did we lose to this lot last time,' he might have silently considered as his Cobo Tigers team wiped the floor with a Griffins side stacked with reserves and no match for the defending Lancaster Trustees Evening League champions.

As good as they were first time around when the two teams met at the start of the season, Griffins were poor, struggling to a paltry 69 for seven in their 16 overs.

Only one player, Danny Strappini, got to double figures, and only just with 10. There were as many wides.

This was a very poor advertisement for the short game and it is no wonder how the island's top players struggle to raise their game when so much of this short fare is now so soft.
