RYAN-ZICO BLACK returned to action last night for the first time since breaking his leg playing for Guernsey FC in November.

The midfielder, who suffered the injury at Erith Town during the Green Lions' memorable FA Vase run, featured for Vale Rec in their Rawlinson Cup quarter-final against Rangers at the Track.

In a match which allowed the use of rolling substitutes, Black (pictured) replaced James Mullen after around 20min. and played for about an hour before being withdrawn.

He got on the scoresheet, too, converting a second-half penalty to put Vale Rec 2-1 ahead but the game ended 3-3 after 90min. with Dale Garland scoring a hat-trick for Rangers, who went on to win the penalty shootout 5-4.
