ANDY PRIAULX, pictured, was left frustrated after today's qualifying for the DTM race at the Nurburgring.

He failed to make it from Q1 to Q2 and so will be starting the race tomorrow from the back of the grid in his Crowne Plaza Hotels BMW M3 DTM.

'I am pretty upset and feel I need to get some answers to what has gone wrong,' Priaulx said.

'We worked hard between free practice and qualifying to try to improve the car, but I was still without the grip I needed to put in a good lap. I can't even say I made a mistake on my quickest lap,' he added.

The triple world champion was hoping to improve once the series got back to more familiar territory in the Eifel mountains.

However, along with two other BMWs – one of which was that of his BMW Team RMG team-mate, Martin Tomczyk – he was down in the drop zone after the first 16 minutes of the session, and will now be 22nd on the grid.
